Wilhelmine E. Wiesen-Smith, age 80, of Lakeville died Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.  Born November 29, 1929, in Mainz, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Wilhelmine (Vollmer) Steuernagel.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold R. Wiesen, in 1968 and her second husband, Welden H. Smith, in 1982.

Formerly of Thornwood, NY, she had been a Lakeville resident since 1968.  She was a hairdresser and later worked as a sewing machine operator for Sherman Mills in Hawley.

Mrs. Wiesen-Smith was a member of Wallenpaupack German-American Club and BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by a step-son and his wife:  Michael W. and Wendy Smith of Lakeville, PA; stepdaughter and her husband:  Carole and Al Cannon of Tafton, PA; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Harry K. Wiesen, in 1995.

Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 28, from 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 10:00 at the funeral home with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor of BVM Queen of Peace RC Church, officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
