Diane E. Laabs, age 69, of Hawley died Thursday, January 28, 2010, at home. Born August 17, 1940, in Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Westmiller) Freytag. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Roger A. Laabs, in February 2006.

A Hawley resident for most of her life, she was a production worker for Thomas Fishing Lures of Hawley for over 30 years. She had also formerly been employed at Thomas Howell's Hair Studio in Hawley, as well as a waitress at Perna's, Lange's and Tanglwood Restaurants. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and their baseball games.

She is survived by four daughters: Pamela White and her husband Verdon, Deborah McCuen and her husband Kevin, Bobbie Schuman and her husband Bob, and Krystine Laabs all of Hawley; a son: Timothy Laabs and his wife Carol of Lake Ariel; a sister: Pamela Holldobler of Hawley; eight grandchildren: Robert, Melissa, Cody, Kyndra, Caroline, Joshua, Tanner and Kyle; and one great grandchild: Kamden.

There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 2:00 PM at the Laabs Property, Coyote Ridge, Long Ridge Rd., Hawley. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
