|  Clara I. Slider, age 86, of Hawley died Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Scranton. Mrs. Slider was born August 29, 1923, in Luther's Mills, PA, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (Hiene) May. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Slider, in 1998. A Hawley resident since 1955, she retired after 35 years as a seamstress for Katz Mill. Mrs. Slider was a member of VFW, an active supporter of the North Shore Animal Society and American Cancer Society and a dedicated blood donor to the American Red Cross She is survived by two daughters: Shirley Schuler of Hawley and Dixie Goodwin and her husband Ed of Lakeville; a son: Kenneth George May and his wife Melva of Leroy, PA; a stepson: Lee Slider and his wife Barbara of Demings, NM; two sisters: Helen Whipley of Bradford Co., PA, and Doris Dennison of Elmira, NY; 9 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Monday, August 9, from 2 to 4:30 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Monday at 4:30 at the funeral home. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Indian Orchard Cemetery, Honesdale.
