|  Marjorie E. Petty, age 93, of Barker St. Apartments, Hawley, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Melvin F. Petty Sr., in 1991. Born April 6, 1918, in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Rose (Smith) Banks. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Formerly of Baltimore, MD, and Scranton, she had been a resident of Hawley since 1991. She was a former member of the Methodist Church in Elm Park. She is survived by one son: Melvin F. Petty Jr. of Sarasota, FL; one sister: Beatrice Hatton of Lords Valley; a granddaughter and her husband: Melanie and Rob Kompoff of Georgia; two great grandsons: Logan and Mason Kompoff also of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Hal D. Petty, and two brothers, George and Robert Banks. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.  | |||
