Frank Loser, age 85, of Middle Village, NY, and Hawley, PA, died Monday, January 2, 2012, at Forest Hills Hospital, New Hyde Park, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, the former Maria Koenig, in 1994.

Mr. Loser was born January 28, 1926, in Yugoslavia and was the son of the late Alois and Maria (Michitsch) Loser.

Prior to his retirement, he owned Everglades Restaurant in New York. He had also worked as a welder and mechanic for Domino Sugar. Mr. Loser was a member of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Middle Village, NY.

He is survived by two sons and their wives: Otto and Nina Loser of Middle Village, NY, and Gerry and Ellen Loser of Morristown, NJ; two sisters: Freida Hutter of Middle Village, NY, and Minnia Kurre of Glendale, Queens, NY; two brothers: Joe and Herbie Loser, both of Ridgewood, NY; and four grandchildren: Nicholas Loser of Middle Village, NY, and Laura, Larissa and Robert Loser of Morristown, NJ.

Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 5, from 5 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, Jan. 6, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Bobby Robert Pudhota. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley, following the Mass.
