Robert Olney Zupp, age 84, of Hawley died Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Scranton.
Mr. Zupp was born May 26, 1933 in Ellenville, NY and was the son of the late Alvin and Edith (VanKeuren) Zupp.
He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956.
Robert was a very active Assistant Scout Master in the Boy Scouts for several years as well as a Deacon in the Dutch Reformed Church.
Mr. Zupp worked for Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation. At Grumman Mr. Zupp held many positions in the Propulsion and Power-plant Departments. He helped develop many of the Navy's advanced aircraft for 40 years, including the F-14 Tomcat. He helped develop the ascent stage propulsion system for the Lunar Module.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Judith V. (Taylor) Zupp and two sons: Robert A. Zupp of Robbinsville, NJ and Nicholas G. Zupp of Staunton, VA, and one granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 31st at 2:30 at Fantinekill Cemetery, Route 209, Ellenville, NY.
