Peter W. Cagnacci, age 87, of Beach Lake and formerly of Woodloch Springs, Hawley and Lyndhurst, NJ, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Mr. Cagnacci was born December 14, 1926 in Lyndhurst, NJ and was the son of the late Stephen and Grace (McAleer) Cagnacci. He was predeceased by a son, Peter Cagnacci Jr. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a graduate of Lyndhurst High School, attended the University of Buffalo and earned his BS from Rutgers University and was a draftsman and sheet metal worker. Mr. Cagnacci was a member of BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Hawley and NY Local 28 of the Sheetmetal Workers Union. He also volunteered for the Special Olympics and was a Little League coach. While in New Jersey, he was a softball player and was a commissioner and women's softball arbitrator. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Gloria (Radice) Cagnacci and one son: Michael Cagnacci of Edmeston, NY; several nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, December 11th at 10am at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel and inurnment will be in B.V.M. Queen of Peace Cemetery in Hawley. Memorials may be made to Pathfinder Village Foundation, 3 Chenango Rd., Edmeston, NY 13335 in memory of Peter Cagnacci.
