Pearl Louise Shugard, age 95, of Hawley died Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Howard John Shugard, in 1986. Born May 1, 1919, in Hillside, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Carroll) Huttle. She was employed as a salesperson for Hayne & Co. which later became Macy's. Formerly of Roselle Park and Bricktown, NJ, Mrs. Shugard was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hawley and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by three daughters: Valerie Pearl Lang and her husband Theodore of Dunnellon, FL, Andrea Joan Witfill and her husband Albert of Beverly Hills, FL, and Cheryl Laverne Swaney and her husband John Boone of Hawley, PA; a sister: Alice Hill and her husband Edward of Jupiter, FL; seven grandchildren: Krista Klett and her husband David of Florida, Sheri Pontarollo and her husband James of New Jersey, Craig Witfill of Beverly Hills, FL, Dr. Stacy Witfill and her husband James Hartkop of Beverly Hills, FL, Dr. Kristin Witfill of Belleair Beach, FL, Debra C. Swaney of Hawley, and Keith John Swaney and his wife Lisa Michelle; great grandchildren: Shena Dorr, Syndel Klett, Cayla Klett, Jamie Pontarollo DiGraziano, Kelsy Pontarollo, Jordan Pontarollo, Bryce Witfill, Logan Witfill, Gabrielle Hartkop, Isabella Hartkop, Nicole Parziale, Michael Parziale, Danielle Parziale, Jacob Ramos, Abigail Swaney, Nathan Swaney and Justine Swaney; and great great grandchildren: John Dorr, Kiera Pearl Dorr and Peyton Klett.
