Obituary of Joan C. Smith

Joan C. Smith, age 78, of Lake Ariel and formerly of Westerleigh, Staten Island, NY died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale. Mrs. Smith was born September 2, 1936 in Staten Island, NY and was the daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (Hannigan) DePaolo. . Joan was predeceased by a sister, Rosemarie and a brother, Eugene. She was a graduate of Port Richmond High School and was formerly the housekeeper for St. John Neuman, St. Vincent And St. Ann's Parishes and she was a caregiver for many local friends. She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Frances & Robert Perricone of Lakeville, PA; two grandsons, Robert Perricone of Lakeville, PA; Joseph Perricone of Lakeville, PA; one great granddaughter, Loralie Love. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 22nd from 3 to 7 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 23rd at 10:30 AM at St John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, Hemlock Farms, Hawley by Rev. Thomas Major. Burial will be in Lakeville Cemetery in Lakeville.
