Obituary of June A Rowe

Please share a memory of June to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
. June Ann Frisbie Rowe, 85, of Honesdale, PA, passed away at her home with her family by her side on May 14, 2015. June was married to the late Edward Walter Rowe for over 60 years. Born December 10, 1929 in Hawley PA, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Minnie Hale Frisbie. In her younger years she enjoyed academics and played basketball. June loved flowers, drawing, and watching the birds and cows on the family farm. She had a tremendous soft spot for animals, particularly dogs, and was always ready with a treat for any fur kid that came to visit her. The best way to describe June is determined. She fought a long battle after suffering a stroke 20 years ago and despite her inability to communicate she was able to convey so much with just a look and gesture. Despite her disability she was a tremendously caring, compassionate, and sweet person who never gave up. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones and great conversation. Her passion and therapy was sending cards to friends and family. It was joked that June kept the postal system in business. June is survived by her son Randy and his wife Sandy, of Honesdale, and her grandchildren, Jake Rowe and his wife Teresa, Amber Rowe Cocks and husband Andrew, and Cory Rowe and wife Kristen, who all lovingly cared for her. A son Pete and his wife Sue, of Seelyville, and grandchildren Melissa Rowe Houghtaling and husband Mitch, Justin Rowe, and Joshua Rowe. Also surviving are a brother-in-law Joe Rowe and wife Katie and sisters-in-law Madeline, and Louise Rowe, and many dear nephews and nieces. June thoroughly enjoyed her time with her great-grandchildren, Hayden and Delaney Rowe and Carter Cocks. Also, Brianna, Ashley, Caitlyn, and Emily Houghtaling. The Rowe Family would like to thank all of their friends and family that supported them over the years. A special thank you to Madeline Rowe who helped care for her for many years. Also to the many caregivers who lovingly took care of and loved June as family. In following June's wishes, a Private Funeral Service will be held at Teeters' East Chapel, Hawley. There will be no public visitation. The Rowe Family invites friends and family to come and share memories and celebrate June's life on Sunday May 24that 12:00-3:00pm at Randy and Sandy's 2213 Owego Tpke. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dyberry Day Camp, P.O. Box 1121, Honesdale, PA 18431 and The Macey Hessling Kidney Fund c/o Honesdale National Bank, 733 Main St., Honesdale, PA 18431.
