Irene Boothney, age 74, of Hidden Lake Estates, Hawley died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at home. Born January 11, 1941, in Bloomfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Lillian (Jagger) Ward. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School, Class of 1958. Irene was the former broker and co-owner of Coldwell Banker, Hawley Office. She also had a beauty shop when she lived in Greeley. Irene enjoyed woodworking, gardening, baking and fishing and she was a skilled seamstress. She is survived by one daughter: Patricia Reilly and her husband Thomas of Hopewell Junction, NY; two sons: RIchard Kuhn of Shreveport, LA and Kevin Kuhn and his wife Karin of Clarksville, VA; daughter of her heart: Denise Nowak of Parker, ID; her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Paul, Jessica, Karlania, Robert, Dan, Bryanne, Matthew and Meagan; and her great grandchildren: Leah, Asher, Milo and Kenley. Calling hours will be Saturday, August 15, from 3 to 6 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will follow at 6:00 at the funeral home with Rev. William G. Rushik, Pastor of South Canaan Free Methodist Church, officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel, followed by inurnment at Indian Orchard Cemetery, Honesdale.
