Doris M. Kanaszka, age 91, of Spinnler's Point, Tafton died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Celtic Hospice at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Anthony S. Kanaszka, in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph S. Fadrowski, in 1987. Born September 23, 1924, in Lake Ariel, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Cobb) Watson. She worked for 15 years at Cove Haven, eventually becoming Head of Housekeeping prior to her retirement 20 years ago. After her retirement, she spent winters in Ocala, FL. Mrs. Kanaszka was a member of BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Hawley. She also loved to cook and bake for the whole neighborhood. She is survived by one daughter: Dolores Buskirk of Stroudsburg, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Florence Minor, and her son, Joseph R. Fadrowski. She was also preceded in death by her seven siblings: Gladys, Florence, Ellen, Sarah, Frank, Billy and Harold. Calling hours will be Sunday, Oct. 4, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Monday, Oct. 5, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Hamlin. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Pike Unit, 110 W. Harford St, Milford, PA 18337.
