John F. Farrell, age 82, of The Escape, Greentown, died Friday, October 16, 2015, at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Catherine Keenan. They were married April 8, 1972.
Born February 8, 1933, in Rego Park, NY, he was the son of the late John P. and Margaret Farrell. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the packing and shipping department of Steinway & Sons in Astoria, NY. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter: Kathleen Farrell of Greentown; two grandsons: Michael Gilbert and Alexander Calvacca, both of Greentown; and a sister: Patricia Williams of New Jersey.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
