Sharon S. Robinson, age 68, longtime resident of Tafton died Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, George H. Robinson, in 1989. Born December 29, 1946, in Binghamton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Betty (Oney) Strzelczyk. She was a 1968 graduate of Wilkes University with a B.S. in Business Education. She earned her Certification in Safety and Driver Education from East Stroudsburg University. She took various courses to earn her Masters Equivalency from Villanova, Penn State and Bloomsburg Universities. She taught at Wallenpaupack Area School District and was Chair of the Business Education Department until her retirement in 1990. She was also an instructor in the Community Education Program at Wallenpaupack. In addition, she helped her husband as office manager and occasional truck driver for Robinson Sanitation. Following her retirement, she was a self-employed computer consultant. She had been a member of the National, Pennsylvania and Wallenpaupack Area Education Associations; the American Vocational Association; and the National Pennsylvania and Tri-State Business Education Association. She was active with the Wayne/Pike Chapter of the American Red Cross where she was an instructor/instructor trainer in all levels of first aid and CPR. She also taught Introduction to Health & Safety, Introduction to Candidate Training, and Water Safety, and was a member of the Safety Services Committee. She was also a CPR instructor for the Keystone Chapter of the American Heart Association. She had also been very active with the Tafton Fire Company where she had been a member, past secretary, assistant ambulance captain, Chairman of Radio Committee, Chairman of 911 Committee, Chairman of Health Committee and member of the Fire Police. Tafton's representative to the Wayne/Pike County EMS Foundation, Sharon was a PA Certified Ambulance attendant, and EMT and EMT instructor, and had been Pike County coordinator of EMT training institute. She was an Advisory Member of Emergency Medical Services of NEPA and on the Lake Wallenpaupack advisory committee. Her volunteer work earned her many awards including the National Ski Patrol Service Award in 1995, Red Cross Outstanding Service Award in 1993 and Special Citation for 20 years of service in 1994, Wayne-Pike Realtors' Association President's Award in 1993 (presented to Tafton Ambulance Crew for helping save life of one of the association members), and Wayne-Pike Jaycees Outstanding Emergency Medical Services Person for 1994. She is survived by one sister: Linda Davis of Holly Hill, FL; one sister-in-law ; Mary Ellen Strzelczyk of Wyoming, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Strzelczyk. A Memorial Service will be held at a date to be announced in Spring 2016. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
