Elizabeth T. "Betty" Ortiz, age 85, of Lakeville, PA and formerly of Brooklyn, NY died Friday, September 30, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA.
Mrs. Ortiz was born August 1, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marjorie (McBride) Farrell. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernesto Ortiz in 1974.
She was a loving Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She is survived by one daughter: Judith Thomas of Lakeville; three sons: Kenneth Ortiz of Manhattan, NY, Steve Ortiz of Old Bridge, NJ, and Ernesto Ortiz, Jr. of Virginia, 16 grandchildren: Tiffany, Carleen, Shannon, Kennedy, Jason, Skylar, Allyson, Christopher, David, Axel, Sabrina, Faith Marie, Grace Marie, Joshua, Amanda and Daniel; and 4 great grandchildren: Natalie, Audrey, Jack and Elliana.
Calling hours will be Monday, Oct 3rd, from 12 to 2 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by a prayer service at 2 PM.
Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, PA. Private burial of Mrs. Ortiz's urn will be conducted at Puerto Rico National Cemetery.
