Obituary of Dorothy Laabs

Dorothy Laabs, age 83, of Hawley died Friday, September 30, 2016 at Regional Hospital Of Scranton. Mrs. Laabs was born November 8, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Homer and Helen (Seckler) Cocalas. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard H. Laabs in 2010 and her son, Brett Laabs. She served as District Magistrate for 22 years before retiring in 2001. Dorothy was a member of the Red Hat Society, card club with her friends and loved her flower garden. She is survived by one daughter: Donna Sanders of Hawley, PA and two sons: Steven & his wife, Nancy Laabs of Annapolis, MD and Mitch Laabs of Hawley, PA, grandson, Colten Laabs; granddaughter, Sydney Laabs. Calling hours will be Sunday, October 9th from 1 to 5 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by the funeral service at 5 PM with Rev.
