Obituary of Laura M. Rapp

Laura M. Rapp, age 88, of Hawley died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, George J. Rapp. Born December 22, 1927, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late George David and Laura Mae (Valentine) Remeley. A Hawley resident for 26 years, Laura had been a former resident of Connecticut, Wisconsin, Illinois and New Jersey. She was a strong, beautiful person who, given her wonderful personality, had a successful career as a sales representative for Clinque Cosmetics as well as other retail sales positions over her lifetime. In her later years, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, word games and bingo. She is survived by three children: George S. Rapp of Marlton, NJ, Gloria K. Amberg and her husband Joseph J. Amberg of Hawley, and Christopher D. Rapp and his wife Marie Beals of Shohola; five grandchildren: Joseph L. Amberg, Christopher G. Amberg, George J. Rapp, Lauren T. Rapp and Kyle K. Rapp; and four great grandchildren: Giovanna Amberg, Christopher J. Amberg, Taylor E. Rapp and James G. Rapp. Calling hours will be Saturday, December 3, from 1 to 2 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
