Obituary of Joseph S Prinzivalli

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph S. Prinzivalli, age 84, formerly of Wantagh, Cuthogue and Islip, NY, now of Tafton died Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Hospice Of The Sacred Heart in Dunmore. Mr. Prinzivalli was born June 29, 1932 in Sicily, Italy and was the son of the late Vito and Josephine (Civello) Prinzivalli. He came to the United States at age 5 and resided with his family in Brooklyn. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a New York City fireman for 33 years. Joe truly was an incredible man, an honest and hardworking retired NYC fireman. He was gifted with gardening, salt water fishing and cooking skills that blew away everyone who benefited from these God given skills. He was awesome at fixing anything (and NOT just with duct tape, he actually pulled things apart and found uses for items that long ago lost their innate ability and value!) He took walls down and built things from scratch. He always had time for family and friends, but more importantly, for anyone he ran into that needed help. He was so giving and caring to all he met and knew. His greatest pride and joy, however, were his children and grandchildren. He is survived by one son: Joseph V. Prinzivalli; three daughters: Joanne Colucci and her husband Mike, Marie P. Clifford and Judi H. Prinzivalli and her husband Landy; and his grandchildren: Nicholas and his wife Michelle and their baby-to-be, April and her husband Pete, James, Zachary and William. He is also survived by his three sisters: Sarina, Mary and Ann; lifelong brother-in-law and friend to the end: Tom and Collette Blasi, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be Monday, December 5th from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 6th at 10:00 at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery in Hawley, PA.
