Obituary of Donal Coutts
Donal S. Coutts, age 88, of Paupack died peacefully Thursday, April 20, 2017 at home following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Shirley (Singer) Coutts.
Born April 27, 1928, in Paupack, he was the son of the late George E and Anna (Gumble) Coutts, Sr. A graduate of Hawley High School, he served in the Army during the Korean War .
He owned and operated Coutts Berry Farms, Paupack with his family.
Donal was a member of the Paupack United Methodist Church where he served on various church committees. He was a past master of Hawley Lodge # 305 F&AM and was 32 Degree Mason. He was also a Shriner, former Commander of the Paupack American Legion Post 784 and a Founder and Past President of the Wallenpaupack Historical Society and the Historian for Palmyra Twp, Pike County, Pa.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Carol Morgan and her husband Bob and Debora Lloyd and her husband Preston, all of Paupack; two sons: Kevin and his wife Maria and Kenneth and his wife Michelle, all of Paupack; one sister: Beatrice Martin of Blooming Grove; one brother: James Coutts of Paupack; ten grandchildren: Kim Miller, Corey Lloyd, Jennifer Coutts, Amanda (Coutts)Fleming, Christopher Lloyd, Emily Coutts, Anna Coutts, Kyle Coutts, Ian Coutts, and Taylor Coutts; and a great grandson: Eli Khouli. He was preceded in death by six brothers.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 25, from 10 to 11:30AM at Paupack United Methodist Church, Rt. 507, Paupack. The funeral will follow at 11:30 AM at the church with Rev. Robert L. Wood officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Paupack.
