Obituary of Steven Richard Vaccaro

Steven Richard Vaccaro, age 56, of Hawley died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at home following an illness. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marie F. (Giovenco) Vaccaro. Born June 16, 1961, in Astoria, NY, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Dorothy (Burkett) Vaccaro. Formerly of Bellerose, NY, he had been a Hawley resident for over 20 years. He was the manager at Pocono Municipal Authority. Steven loved to ride motorcycles, fish with his son, watch movies and play cards. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Nicholas A. Vaccaro of Gouldsboro; one sister: Annette Vaccaro of Florida; a nephew: Christian Vaccaro-Gallo of Florida; and his partner: Janet L. Dufalo of Hawley. He was preceded in death by his son, Salvatore J. Vaccaro, in 2007. There will be a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 12, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
