Obituary of John C. Pfeifer

John C. Pfeifer, Jr., age 85, of Lakeville died Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Gino Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joy E. (Blidsoe) Pfeifer, in 2009.

Born January 6, 1932, in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late John C. and Ethel (Parks) Pfeifer Sr. A US Navy veteran, he worked for the phone company until his retirement.

A longtime Wallenpaupack Lake Estates resident, he was active with the WLE POA, including having been a former member of the Board of Directors as well as a valuable member of many additional committees. He was a member of Crossroads Pentecostal Church in Elmhurst.

He is survived by one daughter: Tracy McHale and her husband Tim of Lakeville; two granddaughters: Jamie McHale LoMonaco and her husband John and Megan McHale and her partner Michael Gurry; one great granddaughter: Gianna Grace LoMonaco; one great grandson: Vincenzo Timothy LoMonaco; and a great grandson on the way.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Victoria Pfeifer, in 1993.

Calling hours will be Saturday, September 23, from 2 to 4 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, at a later date. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
