Harold J. Rogers, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, in Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Barbara A. (Boyle) Rogers, in 2013. Born March 19, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Harold and Helen Rogers. A US Navy veteran, he was an officer with the New York Police Department until his retirement. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Emerald Society of the NYPD. He and Barbara moved from Brooklyn to Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley, in 1987, after which he also worked at Woodloch Pines Resort for many years. He was also a lifetime member of Central Volunteer Fire Department, Station 27.
He is survived by his son: John Rogers and his wife Marissa of Staten Island, NY; two daughters: Kelly Flaherty and her husband Micheal of Lexington, MA, and Kim Mitchell and her husband Bill of Flemington, NJ; his grandchildren: Jack Rogers, Conner and Olivia Mitchell, and Christian, Eileen and Reagan Flaherty; three brothers: Daniel and Walter Rogers of Rockaway, NY and Robert Rogers of West Palm Beach, FL; a sister: Patricia Natland of High Falls, NY; the many members of the Boyle family; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 12, from 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM, at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley, PA 18428. There will be a Graveside Service at 11 AM on Thursday, Dec. 13, at Green Gates Cemetery, 1020 Hudson St., Hawley, with Rev. Colleen Cox of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.
