Manfred Muehter, Jr. Age 91, of Freehold NJ died Monday, September 18, 2023 at Centrastate Hospital, Freehold, NJ. Manfred is predeceased by his loving wife, Eva who passed in 2018.

Manfred was born on April 5, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY and then relocated with parents and brother to Nutley NJ. He was the son of the late Manfred and Hildegard Muehter. Manfred served in the US Military and then later attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned his BA degree and his teaching credentials. Manfred lived in Brick, New Jersey with his family and taught in the Brick school system for 35 years before retiring in 1995. He and his wife then moved to Lake Wallenpaupack to enjoy their retirement living in the beautiful Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania.

Manfred is survived by his two sons: Manfred K. Muehter and his spouse Patti of Portland, Maine and Karl Muehter of Clementon, NJ; two daughters Katherine Muehter and her spouse Lawrence Gaissert of Long Beach, NY and Cynthia Muehter and her spouse Elaine Hughes of Freehold, NJ; his grandchildren: Marie Weber, Elena Muehter, Juliana Muehter, Eric Muehter, Joseph Muehter, Laura Bauer, and Gina Castrianni; and six great-grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Makayla, Roslyn, Evan and Zachary. Manfred also leaves behind his brother, Vincent Muehter of Towaco, NJ and his spouse Janet.

Calling hours will be on Friday, September 22nd, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm, and Saturday, September 23rd from 8:30 am-9:30am at Teeters' Funeral Chapel located at 505 Church Street, Hawley, PA. A service will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hawley at 10am. Burial thereafter in Pine Grove Cemetery in Paupack, PA.
