William George Schimminger, Sr., age 82, of Tafton passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife Bernetta.

Born July 12, 1941, in Roxborough, PA, he was the son of the late George and Ethel (Benashek) Schimminger. He was an auto mechanic until his retirement.

Mr. Schimminger was a member of the Tafton Volunteer Fire Department and was a Fire Police Lieutenant. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by one daughter: Dottie Ann Murray and her husband John of Blackwood, NJ; two sons: William George Schimminger Jr. of Tafton and Joseph Paul Schimminger of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; and several grandchildren.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Tafton Fire Company, 235 PA Route 507, Tafton.

Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
