Lucy G. Suskawicz, age 82, of Hemlock Farms, Hawley, died Saturday, November 23, 2024, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Peter M. Suskawicz.

Born September 29, 1942, in Freeport, NY, Lucy was the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy (Henry) Bauman. A Hemlock Farms resident for more than 20 years, she formerly lived in Bayport, NY, where she cared for children in her own home daycare service. Following her retirement, she and her husband built the home of their dreams in Hemlock Farms, and she started her own cleaning business. Lucy was a longtime member of Faith Christian Outreach Center in Lords Valley.

She is survived by one daughter: Michelle DeMello and her husband Jeffrey of New Bedford, MA; one son: Peter Suskawicz and his wife Joanne of Sayville, NY; one sister: Norma Nardella of Simpsonville, SC; one brother: Wayne Bauman of Fuquay Varina, NC; a son-in-law: Daniel Savadel of Hawley; five grandchildren: Scott and Randy Johnson, Daniel and Katie Savadel, and Benjamin Suskawicz.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Savadel; a granddaughter, Sarah Savadel; and a sister, Charlotte Tashman.

Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory. Her urn will be placed in Spring 2025 next to her husband in Indian Orchard Cemetery, Honesdale.
