Obituary of Christina Bower

Christina Giarrusso Bower, 69 of Hawley, PA passed into her eternal reward on February 11, 2025 following complications following surgery, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 20, 1955 in Massapequa Park, NY. She is survived by her beloved husband Craig, her sons Thomas (Jennifer) Bower, Michael Bower, and daughter, Serena Bower (Christopher) Wischerth. She was “Grammy” to grandchildren Dominic and Carter Bower, Alexander and Isabella Bower, and Kyler Bower (to whom Chris and Craig were guardians). Her siblings Elizabeth ( Denis) McCarthy, Joseph (Kay) Giarrusso, Pete ( Helene) Giarrusso, and Robert (Susan) Giarrusso are heartbroken by this loss. Her multiple nieces and nephews all love and will miss her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Giarrusso and her beloved daughter Catherine Bower. Chris has long been a member of Queen of Peace Parish Church in Hawley, PA, where she was an active volunteer serving most recently as a lector. She is well known for her 35 plus years working at Woodloch Pines resort, Hawley. She loved the staff she worked with and the guests she served. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Queen of Peace Church, 314 Chestnut Street, Hawley on Wednesday, February 19 at 10AM, the Rev. Fr. Richard Beck, pastor, presiding. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 5-8PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church Street, Hawley. Those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to report directly to the church.
