Obituary of Rena L. Cassel

Rena l. Cassel, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at St. Mary's Villa in Elmhurst Township, PA. She was predeceased by husband, Robert S. Cassel in 2017. Rena was born January 7, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Ellis Landis and Bertha Landis. In addition to her parents, Rena was predeceased by her stepmother, Alma Landis. Rena was bookkeeper of Cassel Construction. Her work ethic was unsurpassed. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and participated in the Altar Guild. Rena was an avid Steelers fan. She loved family and especially enjoyed emailing the grandchildren She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Hendricks and husband Scott of Taos, NM and Karen Lapinski of Royersford, PA; son Eric Cassel and wife Cathy of Geentown, PA; and grandchildren, Cale Hendricks, Wade Hendricks, Justin Stauffer, Brett Stauffer, Drew Lapinski, Lauren Venafra, Chris Cassel and their families. Rena is also survived by brother Donald Landis and sister Phyllis Moyer. She is predeceased by brothers Elvin Landis and Wesley Landis. Calling hours will be Saturday, March 8th from 12:00noon to 1:00pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 401 Church Street, Hawley, PA, followed by memorial service at 1:00pm, officiated by Pastor Adam C. Reinhardt. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 405 Church Street, Hawley, PA 18428 or to the Newfoundland Library, 954 Main Street, Newfoundland, PA 18445.
