Herbert Fred Baumann, age 86, of Hawley died Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale.
Born September 16, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY, Herb was the son of the late Fred and Gerda Baumann. He served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1959. In his younger years, he and his father owned and operated Bertony Knitting Mill in White Mills. He later began working at Thomas Fishing Lures in Hawley where he worked the metal press.
He is survived by one daughter: Carolyn Lorent and her husband Matthew of Honesdale; two sons: Craig Baumann and his wife Terri of Seneca, SC and Jeffrey Baumann and his wife Sherri of Hawley; his grandchildren: Skye Rickard and her husband Brice and Katie and Sara Baumann; two great grandchildren: Deacon and Matyson Rickard; his longtime companion: Barbara Tscheu; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his sister, Sonya Gumble.

Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Inurnment will take place in Green Gates Cemetery in Spring 2026.
