Edward Kurre Obituary

Edward Kurre, age 97, passed away on February 4, 2026, at Bethany Village. His last few days were peaceful and surrounded by loved ones.

Edward immigrated from Yugoslavia to Ridgewood, NY, in his young adulthood and was a truly patriotic American. He was thankful for the opportunity to live the American dream alongside his wife, Christine; daughter, Manuela; and his siblings who immigrated before him.

After a career as a butcher and landlord in New York, Edward retired to Hawley, PA, which he often described as "heaven on earth."

He was a devoted grandfather to his granddaughter, Zoe, and to Zoe's husband, Alex. He enjoyed his Sunday afternoon trips to Walmart with his son-in-law, John, and his daily visits from his daughter, Manuela.

He is survived by his daughter, Manuela; his son-in-law, John; his granddaughter, Zoe; his grandson-in-law, Alex; and his siblings, Frank, Lily, Hilda, and Ernie.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine, and his siblings, Maria, John and Joseph.

Edward's family would like to thank Bethany Village for the excellent care they provided to their loved one.
