Diane Rose Riveland, age 79, of Hawley, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospice, Port Jefferson, NY, after a courageous battle of dementia.

Born March 27, 1946, in Astoria, Queens, NY, Diane was the daughter of the late Alice Rose Eomme. Prior to her retirement, she was a registered nurse who worked for Allied Services in Honesdale. However, many people remember Diane best for her 40 years as a waitress at the Cuckoo's Nest.

She is survived by two sons: Christopher Riveland of Florida and James Riveland of North Carolina; and one daughter: Deborah Badamo of New York; her grandchildren: Tyler, Zachary, Patrick, Kaityln, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Rebekah; and three great grandchildren: Brooke, Tyler Matthew and Walker.

There will be a Gathering of Friends and Family from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Saturday, February 21, at Teeters' East Chapel, 507 Church St., Hawley, PA. Burial will follow in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, Roy Peder Riveland, finally back in the country where she most loved to be.
