Margaret "Marge" Hartzell, age 90, of Paupackan Lake Estates, Lakeville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 8, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Robert Harr Hartzell, in 1991.

Born April 30, 1935, in Philadelphia, Marge was the daughter of the late Jesse Wirt Beeghley Sr. and the late Eula (Fankhauser) Beeghley. Marge went to school at Westtown School, West Chester, PA, and Stevens School where she graduated in 1954. She had fond memories she often shared including knowing Grace Kelly and Dorothy Hamill and winning an Army Jeep at her Field Day. She went on to earn her associates degree at the Philadelphia College of Arts. Upon graduating she received offers from American Greetings and Sunshine Art studios for her unique designs.

Marge was a loving, caring, adventurous woman who loved the outdoors, swimming, boating, skiing and waterskiing, even during hurricanes when the waves were the best. She was a "Bright Light" to anyone with had the privilege of knowing her. She had a love of people, especially children with whom she shared her many adventures. At a young age she babysat her three nephews and niece, where she loved taking them to the movies and playing games.

She took that love of children and opened and taught at a nursery school, Swingin' Things Nursery School in Clarks Summit.

After retirement and moving to Lakeville she continued babysitting and created her own "Fan Club" where she rode bikes, taught swimming, played games and had sleepovers.

Marge was a long-time member of Clarks Summit United Methodist Church in Clarks Summit where she sang in the choir hosted many get-togethers and fundraisers. After moving to Paupackan Lake Estates in Lakeville she became a member of the Lakeville United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and helped with several church functions.

She loved reading bedtime stories and singing "You Are My Sunshine" to her 16 grandchildren and her great grandson. She had a big heart and infectious joyful nature that will be missed by many family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter: Carolyn O'Dowd of Archbald; two sons: Jeffrey Hartzell of Weatherford, TX and Carl Hartzell of Lakeville; 16 grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Hartzell; a granddaughter, Cheyenne O'Dowd; and a brother, Jesse "Jack" Beeghley Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, May 3, at Lakeville United Methodist Church, 431 Purdytown Tpk., Lakeville, with inurnment immediately following in Lakeville Cemetery.

Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
