Walter Raymond Serfass Obituary

Walter “Sonny” Raymond Serfass, age 85, of Hawley died Friday, March 20, 2026, at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.


Walter was born August 1, 1940, in Easton, PA and was the son of the late Walter Harold and Mary Victoria (Gale) Serfass.


Walter served in the Navy for four years in San Diego, California. He, along with his wife, owned and operated Walt’s Landing Marina on Lake Wallenpaupack for over 50 years. He served as Treasurer of the Marine Trade Association of Lake Wallenpaupack for 10 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, sailing and snowmobiling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Lynne Jayne (Harris) Serfass, two daughters; Carol Winkler of Hawley, PA and Janet Hiriak and her husband, Nicholas of Collegeville, PA, and his two grandchildren, Emily Winkler and Alex Winkler.


Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10 to 11:30AM at Teeters’ Funeral Chapel, Inc., 505 Church Street, Hawley, PA, followed by a prayer service at 11:30 AM.


Private cremation will be at lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, PA.
