Robert James Bataille, age 85, of Greentown, PA died Monday, April 6, 2026 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, PA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Janet (Popielarski) Bataille.

Born November 27, 1940, in Kearney, NJ, Robert was the son of the late Harry and Loretta (Mertz) Bataille. Formerly of Parsippany, NJ, he was a design and manufacturing engineer for Ohaus Scale Corp until his retirement.

In 1988, Robert and his wife Janet became part-time residents of Greentown but have been full-time residents there for twenty years. They have enjoyed their retirement at Lake Wallenpaupack, spending time with friends and family. Bob, or Uncle Bob as he was known to many was a loving husband, wonderful father and devoted grandfather. He enjoyed boating, flying model planes, astronomy, and his involvement in the Woodmont Heights Homeowners Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Steven Bataille of Edgefield, SC; his daughter Andrea Collazzo of Blackwood, NJ, sister: Louise Breese of Washington Twp., NJ; and grandson: Robert Collazzo of Blackwood, NJ.

He was predeceased by his brother, Harry Bataille.

Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel, PA.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held in the near future at a place and time to be determined.
