Sheila M. McCabe, age 90, a 12-year resident of Ellen Memorial Lane in Honesdale and formerly of Yonkers, NY, died Monday, May 4, 2026, at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale.

Ms. McCabe was born December 2, 1935, in Dobbs Ferry, NY and was the daughter of the late James McCabe and the late Edith (Gibbs) McCabe O'Kane.

She was a 1957 graduate of Benedictine Nursing School in Kingston, NY and had a 35-year career at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, NY in the cardiac unit. She loved all things Irish and enjoyed several trips to Ireland. Sheila was a member of the American Legion Post 311.

She is survived by her dear friend, Maureen Van Loan.

Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel and inurnment will be in St. Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery in Murrells Inlet, SC at a future date.
