Louis James LiCausi, 92, of Hawley, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale with his family by his side.

Born on May 2, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, Lou was the son of the late Louis Joseph LiCausi and Wilhelmina (Boettcher) LiCausi. He proudly served in the United States Navy before beginning a long career as an electrician with IBEW Local 3 in New York. He took pride in his work and believed in working hard, doing the job right, and providing for his family.

Lou was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Throughout the years, he took on many roles for his family, serving as coach, cheerleader, chauffeur, handyman, and dependable source of encouragement. He showed his love by helping, providing, and making sure the people he cared about were always taken care of.

He liked to keep busy and could find a way to fix almost anything. His methods were not always the easiest or most conventional, but somehow he usually found a way to make things work. As he got older, his family often joked that he broke things on purpose just so he would have something to repair.

Lou enjoyed gardening, watching the birds that visited the yard, playing card games online, and spending time in the kitchen. He was always "doctoring up" a recipe. His homemade chili became a family favorite and remained one of his favorite meals until the end of his life.

Lou also had a wonderful sense of humor and an incredible ability to keep going through difficult circumstances. Over the years, he survived numerous accidents and health challenges. His family affectionately called him "The Bionic Man" and often joked that he had more lives than a cat.

Lou is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Christina (Philipps) LiCausi; his daughters, Karen Guido and her husband, Michael, of Florida, Jamie LiCausi of Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, and Brianna LiCausi of Port Jervis, New York; his son, Anthony LiCausi and his wife, Andrea, of Dayton, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Alex LiCausi, Thomas Guido, and Katrina (Guido) Tisdale.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church Street, Hawley, Pennsylvania. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Cooper of BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church officiating.

Private cremation will take place at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.

Lou will be deeply missed by his family and by those who knew him. They will remember his humor, resilience, willingness to help, and the many ways he showed his love by always being there when they needed him.
