Joseph J. Sclafani, age 89, of Lackawaxen, PA and formerly of Middle Village, Queens, NY died Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale.
Mr. Sclafani was born August 25, 1936, in Manhattan, NY and was the son of the late Theresa (Severini) Sclafani. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his son, Joseph B. Sclafani, two brothers, Gus Sclafani, Jr. and Anthony Sclafani and sister Lucille Walker.
He served in the Marine Corps and worked in construction for the New York City Housing Authority for 30 years.
Joseph was a good man, loving husband, wonderful father. He kept his sense of humor to the very end.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Rosemary (Tua) Sclafani, daughter & son-in-law, Ann Marie & Isaac Stewart of Manhattan, NY.
Private cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
