Obituary of James Robert Crawford

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Robert Crawford, age 59, of Hawley passed away suddenly in his wife's arms at home on Sunday, April 28, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Sheree Mylo Becker. Born January 13, 1965, in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late William and Joan (Taylor) Crawford. Formerly of Long Island, NY, he was in Local 1298/Heavy Road Construction for 30 years and was a laborer, known as "Jimmy the Bull" by his co-workers because of his hard work ethic. After meeting in Montauk, NY, in 2004, Jimmy and Sheree moved to Hawley in 2006. Hard working and generous, Jimmy was a true animal lover. He was always surrounded by his beloved dog, cats, chickens, honey bees and even a turtle He was a kind soul who will be deeply missed by his wife Sheree and his many friends and animals. It would surprise no one that he would be honored by St. Francis of Assisi in the Spirit realm. Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny. He always knew when the time came for him to transition into Spirit; Johnny would be there welcoming him with open arms. All of Jimmy's previously deceased dogs would be there to greet him with happy tails. He was a real hero to his wife Sheree, and his response was always yeah, yeah, a meatball hero. He was a giving man, almost to a fault. He was always willing to help anyone with just about anything. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. A memorial service will be held at a future date to be determined. Donations in James’ memory may be made to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Rd., Honesdale, PA 18431.
