Obituary of Russell E. Vollmer

Russell E. Vollmer, age 75, of Lakeville died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Community Medical Center, Scranton. Mr. Vollmer was born May 31, 1929 in Floral Park, NY and was the son of the late Jacob and the late Cynthia (Olufsen) Vollmer. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953 during Korean war . He was a retired TV Cameraman from CBS. He attended the School of Modern Photography in NYC. Mr. Vollmer was a member of Upper Saddle River Historical Society, Teaneck Camera Club, Avid woodworker and furniture maker and a lifelong interest in photography. He and his wife traveled extensively in their RV, visiting all 50 states. He is survived by his wife: Dorothy M. (Morse) Vollmer, two daughters: Janet Smith of Milford, PA, Wendy Ryffel of Oakland, NJ and one son: Paul Casson of Monroe, NY, one brother: Kenneth Vollmer of Erie, PA Seven grandchildren, Paul Jr., Heather, Dawn, Kevin, Kristin, Kelly & Lisa; and 2 Great Grandchildren, Victoria & Brianna Calling hours will be Thursday May 5, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Friday May 6, 2005 at 11:00 at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Pastor Hawley United Methodist Church and Rev. Theodore Muller, Pastor of Vistitaion Hawley United Methodist Church, officiating.Burial will be in Lakeville Cemetery, Lakeville. Memorials may be made to Hawley United Methodist Memorial Fund, 315 Church St, Hawley, PA 18428 or VNA Hospice Of Lackawanna County, 301 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, PA 18447
