Melvin Elroy Fenstermacher, age 77, of Blooming Grove died unexpectedly Friday, June 24, 2016 at home. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor L. (Kleinhans) Fenstermacher. Born August 18, 1938, in Wolf Township, Lycoming County, PA, he was the son of the late Eri and Clementine Rebecca (Kilgus) Fenstermacher. An Air Force veteran, he worked as a self-employed plumber and electrician until his retirement. A resident of Blooming Grove for most of his life, he was a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church, 45 year member of Blooming Grove Fire Department and a member of American Legion Post #139 of Milford. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Walter Fenstermacher, Debora Fenstermacher, Ricky Fenstermacher, Sherry Pajalich and Lenora Mills, all of Blooming Grove; two sisters: Ruth Booth of Eagles Mere, PA and Fran of Florida; eleven grandchildren: Jamie, Eric, Jessie, Lisa, Rebecca, Amber, Codey, Melanie, Cole, Nathan and Kelly; and three great grandchildren: Kayla, Caiden and Cameron. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kory. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 1, at 1:00 PM at Blooming Grove Baptist Church, Rt 402, Hawley, with Rev Douglas Rhine, Pastor, officiating. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post #139, Box 144, Milford, PA 18337.
