Obituary of Leonard Carl Mullen

Leonard Carl “Len” Mullen of Greentown passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, after complications from chemotherapy. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., on April 29, 1934, to the late Leonard Cyril and Frances (Rudell) Mullen, he graduated from Kensington High School and the University of Buffalo where he obtained a degree in accounting, and then a PMD from Harvard Business School. He was a CPA who worked in managerial positions at several corporations including General Signal, the Regina Company and McGuire Nicholas Company. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend, his beloved wife Nancy, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage. He is also survived by daughters. Sheree Mullen, Silver Spring, Md.; Sheela Mullen (Robert Bennett), Melbourne Beach, Fla.; Shawn (Hal) Monheim, Spirit Lake, Idaho; Dona (Steve) Morford, Anaheim Hills, Calif.; sons, Gregory, Edgewood, N.M.; Gary, Melbourne Beach, Fla.; and Guy (Karin), Parker, Colo. Len is also survived by 20 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Carolyn (Ray) Sigeti; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jane Rogers. Len was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, who will be greatly missed. He enjoyed life, loved to travel, play cards, especially canasta and bridge, and loved all sports and the outdoors. He could be found bike riding for 10 miles on the beaches of Hilton Head Island until his illness this past spring. Len also genuinely loved to help people. He was proud of his 22 years of volunteer service as an AARP Foundation Tax-Aide. He loved spending time with his family and spent countless hours boating on Lake Wallenpaupack with his children and grandchildren. A Celebration of Len's Life will be held at 1:00 PM, January 20, 2024, at The Lodge at Tanglwood Resort, 9 Crest Dr., Hawley, PA.
