Obituary of Elsie Cegielski

Elsie Cegielski, age 80, of Maplewood, Lake Ariel, died Monday evening, August 23, 2004, at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale. Mrs. Cegielski was born July 7, 1924, in Hellertown, PA, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie (Badak) Zisko. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Martin Cegielski, Sr., in 1979. She and her husband raised their family in Kintnersville, PA, and later retired to St. Cloud, FL. She had recently moved to Maplewood, where she resided with her youngest daughter and son-in-law. Elsie dearly loved her three children: Gloria Welch of Quarryville, PA, Debra Birtel of Maplewood, Lake Ariel, PA, and Martin Cegielski, Jr. of Crawford, CO; her 7 grandchildren; and her 3 great grandchildren. Elsie was an avid traveler, grew up farming, spent her days collecting antiques and loved to dance the polka. She spent many happy years with her family at Promised Land State Park, and, in later years, she enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine of Florida. Family and friends may call Friday, August 27, at 12:00 noon, at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley. The Prayer Service will be officated by Rev. Joseph P. Kutch, Pastor of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, White Mills. Internment will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery, Hellertown, PA.
