Obituary of Rev. Gail B. Wintermute

Rev. Gail B. Wintermute, age 88, of Hawley died unexpectedly Saturday, November 13, 2004 at his home. Mr. Wintermute was born May 19, 1916 at East Mauch Chunk, PA the son of the late Russell and Florence (Benner) Wintermute. He married Mildred L. Young in 1946 and celebrated 58 years recently. Rev. Wintermute served various Methodist Church pastorates for 59 years. Prior to being assigned to the Hawley, Lakeville and Paupack Charge in 1970, he served in Scranton, Springville and Bird-in Hand churches. He was retired as a Methodist Minister in 1980. He was a graduate of Dickinson College and Drew Seminary. Rev. Wintermute was a member of the Wyoming Conference of the United Methodist Church and he attended the Beach Lake United Methodist Church following his retirement. He was also a member of the Hawley Senior Citizens Group and a former Hawley Rotary Club member. He is survived by his wife: Mildred L. (Young) Wintermute, one daughter: Louise Georgette of Sedona, AZ and one son: Gail B. Wintermute, Jr. of Scranton, PA. Also surviving are three Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday November 30th at 11:00AM at The Beach Lake United Methodist Church, Rt. 652, Beach Lake with Rev. Dr. Gordon E. Weightman officiating. Private burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl. Memorials may be made to Beach Lake United Methodist Church, RR2 Box 1015, Beach Lake, PA. 18405
