Kaare H. Gundersen, age 78, of The Escape, Greentown died Friday, August 17, 2001 at home.
Mr. Gundersen was born July 29, 1923 in Arendal, Norway and was the son of the late Gunnar Ingva and Jenny Olinda (Ohlsen) Gundersen. He was predeceased by a son Thomas.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was a tug boat engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Ruth(Hendersen) Gundersen, two daughters: Dianne Meltzer of Syacruse, NY, Donna Gundersen of Hawley, PA and two sons: Kenneth Gundersen of Moscow, PA, Ralph Gundersen of Coram, NY; Evan Kaare Gundersen, grandson and namesake and 8 other grandchildren; one sister: Swanhild Bettum of Staten Island, NY
The funeral will be Monday, August 20th at 2:00 at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley with Laurie Stuart, officiating.
Cremationl will be at H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg.
