Glenn Kenneth Gilbert, age 67, of Millbrook, Greentown, died Monday, February 22, 2016, with his family at his side at Regional Hospital of Scranton, PA. He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Nancy C. (Smith) Gilbert.
Born October 22, 1948, in Ewing, NJ, he was the son of the late Lester C. and Gertrude (Compton) Gilbert. A graduate of Ewing High School, he worked for Ewing Township Public Works Department for 38 years and retired as Superintendent in 2005. He thereafter moved up to the Poconos with his loving wife Nancy.
Glenn was a Life Member of Prospect Heights Vol. Fire Company in Ewing, NJ where he served over 51 years as past Chief, President, Firefighter and Friend. He received the Valor Award for his unselfish acts from Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation in 1993.
He was a big fan and supporter of the Promised Land Sportsman Club in PA. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandchildren, enjoyed family visits, collecting Hess trucks, many pleasurable hours in his garden and most of all spending his retirement life with his beloved wife Nancy.
He will be greatly missed by so many people.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Scott K. Gilbert and his wife Beverly and Timothy J. Gilbert and daughter in-law Conswalo all of Ewing; his grandchildren: Katelyn, Rachel, Jared, Taelor and Joshua; his great granddaughter: Lyric; his brother: Lester C. Gilbert Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Poway, CA; and many stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Prospect Heights Volunteer Fire Company's Banquet Hall at 2:00 p.m.
