Richard Alvin Teeter (Dick) is the fourth generation of the Teeter family firm that has operated at the same Hawley location since 1849. Dick is a graduate of Hawley High School, Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA with a BS degree in Business Administration. Following his 1962 graduation, Dick attended Eckels College earning an honors degree in Mortuary Science. Dick has owned Teeters' Funeral Chapel and Teeters' Furniture since 1965. He is active in the Hawley Methodist Church, a Director of the Wallenpaupack Area Medical Foundation and the Hawley Downtown Partnership.
Dick and Mary Anne have 3 daughters, Mary Helen Schmalzle, Julie Teeter-Seiler, and Jen Peifer. They are also blessed with 7 wonderful grandchildren.
Julia Teeter-Seiler has been a member of the staff at Teeters' since 1987. As the 5th generation of the family business, Julia as managed Teeters' Furniture for many years and worked in the Funeral Chapel as office manager. She received her license as a Funeral Director in the fall of 2015. Julie is the eighth Teeter family member to become a Funeral Director.
Julie is a graduate of Wallenpaupack High School, Siena College in NY, and Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. She and her husband Dick have a daughter Rebecca and a son Jordan.
