Obituary of Josefa Kaltschitz

Josefa Kaltschitz, age 93, of Manor At Waymart, died Friday, July 1, 2005, at Ascera Care Hospice At Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville. Born February 7, 1912, in Retje, Slovania, she was the daughter of the late Andreas and the late Maria (Lavritsch) Debeljak. She was preceded in death in 1955 by her husband of 20 years, Josef Kaltschitz.
She emigrated from Hintersee by Saltzburg, Austria, in 1956, after which she lived in Ridgewood, Queens, NY. During her life, she worked in farming, as a lumberjack trailblazer, in a factory and in a knitting mill.
She was predeceased by a daughter Helga Kaltschitz; a son Alois Kaltschitz; three brothers: James, Josef and Anton; and three sisters: Maria, Johanna and Francka.
She is survived by three daughters: Poldi Godau of High Bridge, NJ; Anne Marie Timm of Tuscon, AZ; Helga Holland and her husband Gene of Valley Cottage, NY; and a son: Erwin (Ernie) Kalt and his wife Loretta of Carbondale, PA; a daughter-in-law: Marie Kaltschitz (widow of Alois) of Hawley; seven grandchildren: Ann Monaghan and her husband Jim, William Kaltschitz and his wife Lisa, Karen Godau, Robert Schreiber, Michelle Kalt Esbensen and her husband Keith, Joseph Kalt and his wife Jennifer, and Bernard Kalt; five great grandchildren: Joseph, Elizabeth, Samantha, Tiffini and Tristen; and several nieces and nephews in the US, Slovania and Austria.
May you now know peace and joy with God and those you love who have gone before you. Oma, we will always love and miss you. Yours, until we meet again, your loving children and grandchildren
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9 to 10:45am at TEETERS' East Chapel, Inc., 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral mass will be Tuesday at 11:00AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, with the Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.
