Obituary of Miriam G. “Mim” Vail

Miriam G. "Mim" Vail, age 76, of Lake Ariel, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Mrs. Vail was born October 2, 1928, in Hershey, PA, and was the daughter of the late Orie C. and the late Fannie (Cocklin) Grove. She was predeceased by a son, Martin Vail. Miriam possessed a God-given talent for music and for children, which she shared with churches and organizations throughout her lifetime. All along the way, she collected people and made them a part of her life and gave herself to enriching their lives, considering many of them to be her sons and daughters. She was retired from GAI-tronics as a secretary. She is survived by one sister: Alma Hames of Tyler Hill; a brother & sister-in-law, Evan & Mildred Grove of Hershey; a brother & sister-in-law, Orie & Cathy Grove of Lancaster; an aunt Helen Cave;several nieces & nephews; several cousins and many, many cherished friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, at Cole Memorial Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Berks County Unit of the American Cancer Society in memory of Martin Vail.
