Obituary of Alice Marie Saari

Alice Marie Saari, age 66, of Honesdale, died Sunday, October 2, 2005, in Hawley. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Alice E. (Fleischmann) Ungerer and the late Walter Ungerer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvi Oscar Saari, in 1992. She had been a homemaker and a member of VFW Auxiliary of Honesdale, PA. She is survived by her mother: Alice E. Ungerer of Kokomo, IN, and formerly of Hawley; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Walter & Janet Ungerer of Kokomo, IN, and Eugen & Karen Ungerer of Williston Park, LI, NY; her beloved companion: Don Wood of Honesdale, PA; two nieces: Cheryl Ungerer of Kokomo, IN, and Rachael Pompeii of Long Island, NY; two nephews: Brian Ungerer of Kokomo, IN, and Walter Ungerer of Atlanta, GA; two grandnieces: Alex Ungerer and Briel Robinson of Kokomo, IN; and five grandnephews: Nicholas and Reis Ungerer of Kokomo, IN, and Ben, Jake and Pete Ungerer of Atlanta, GA. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7 to 8 PM at First Presbyterian Church, Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday at 8:00 at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. William Samford, Pastor, and Rev. Dr. Walter Ungerer, brother of Mrs. Saari, officiating. Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley.
