Obituary of Daniel Joseph Miller Jr.

Daniel Joseph Miller, Jr., age 59, of Hawley, died Friday, October 7, 2005, at home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel J. and the late Anne (Watson) Miller, Sr. He is survived by his wife, the former Maria Ann Ruppert. He was retired from Southeastern PA Transit Authority as Transit Police Supervisor, but worked most recently as the Senior Vice Commander of the Honesdale VFW. During the Vietnam War, he was an Army Paratrooper. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War, and had been past President of the AFL-CIO in Philadelphia. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Daniel J. Miller III of White Mills, PA, William D. Miller of Wayne, NJ, and Douglas J. Miller of Hawley, PA; his former wife: Jo-Ann Adams of Levittown, PA; a sister: Donna Miller of Philadelphia; a brother: David J. Miller of Bensalem, PA; a granddaughter, Danielle Gurst; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 3:30 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley.
