Obituary of Thelma Signe Saaf

Thelma Signe Saaf, age 81, of Rowland, died Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at home. Mrs. Saaf was born April 16, 1924, in Langford, SD, and was the daughter of the late Sigve Harold and the late Marie (Snorteland) Solversen. She was a former seamstress for Sherman Mills in Hawley. She played the piano at Bethel Lutheran Church for many years. She loved to cook, can and bake. Prior to living in Rowland, Thelma lived in South Dakota and New York City. She is survived by her husband of 54 years: Arthur H. Saaf, one daughter: Marla Krochta of Rowland, PA, one son: Jeffrey A. Saaf of Rowland, PA; one sister: Marguerite Blomstrand of Riverdale, NJ, one brother: Myron Solversen of San Leandro, CA, and four grandchildren: Tia, Mason, Benjamin & Stephen. She was predeceased by a brother, Bertil Solversen. Calling hours will be Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10AM to Noon at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, at 1PM at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rowland, PA with Rev. Norman Beighley, officiating. Private cremation with burial in Rowland Cemetery will be held at a later date.
